Q: How can I rotate, translate and zoom model in 3D Viewer?

A: Rotation is done by dragging mouse while holding left mouse button down, translation is done by dragging mouse while holding right mouse button down and zooming is done by turning mouse wheel. Older beta version had different approach using middle mouse button. Use middle mouse button click to center on node or element depending on selection mode.

 

Q: Why Apame solver exits with error when I try to run it on my Pentium 4 processor?

A: Executables available on this page are compiled for Intel Core 2 architecture and problems could arise if tried to run on older machines. Please contact me if you have older (or newer) machine so that I can prepare executable for your architecture.

 

Q: Can Apame calculate off-body velocity components?

A: No, not at the moment. I plan to implement this feature later on, probably in ApameGUI, based on singularity strengths and using induced velocity equations.

 

Q: Is Apame suitable for supersonic flow analysis?

A: No, Apame is strictly for low subsonic range. Though Prandtl-Glauert pressure correction is available to take into account compressibility.
